Leisure Education

A group of teens and adults at a lemonade standSRACLC and the local school districts collaborate to educate the students about the recreation and leisure activities available to them within the communities they reside.

Leisure Education is an assistive tool to enable an individual to gain a broader understanding of where, why, how, and with whom he/she can pursue leisure interests and experiences. Leisure Education also assists individuals to develop different modes of leisure behavior which will enable them to adapt to the environment to meet their free time needs.

The goals of each leisure education program will be adapted to best fit the needs of each classroom. Leisure education opportunities include but are not limited to group field trips, fitness classes, or in-house activities. For more information or to schedule an activity, please get in touch with Katie Owen at kowen@sraclc.org or contact our office at 847-816-4866.
