ADA/FOIA

ADA Policies
The Special Recreation Association of Central Lake County (SRACLC) intends to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) which prohibits discrimination in the provision and inclusion of programs and services to individuals with disabilities. As stated below, some programs, because of the inherent nature of the activity, are suggested for specific disability groups.

If you or any person wishes to participate and is not among the suggested groups, please call SRACLC. Every reasonable effort will be made to include the individual in the program.

If you have any questions regarding the ADA or if you feel you have been discriminated against in the inclusion of programs, or the provision of services, please contact John Buckner at 847-816-4866. A procedure is available for you to register your complaint and for its prompt resolution.

FOIA Policies
What is FOIA? The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) is an Illinois state statute that provides access to public records from public bodies in an open and efficient manner. The full statute (5 ILCS 140) may be viewed on the Illinois General Assembly website. The statute ensures that records in the possession of public agencies may be accessed by the public upon written requests.

All FOIA Officer(s) can be reached at the SRACLC Office, 271 N. Archer Avenue, Mundelein, IL 60060; phone (847) 816-4866. Requests can be submitted in writing or via email at the addresses listed below. A request form is also available for your convenience at the SRACLC Office.

Send requests to:
John Buckner, Director  jbuckner@sraclc.org

What happens after I send a request?
The Illinois Freedom of Information Act requires agencies to respond within five business days after receipt of a request. A five-day extension is allowed with written notification to the requester.

If the requested records are 50 pages or less in length, the pages will be copied (regular size, black and white) and the requester will be called regarding when the documents are ready to be picked up. (If the documents are mailed, the postage will need to be reimbursed before the documents are mailed to the requester). If the records exceed 50 pages, the requester will be informed of the duplication cost before they are copied.
