WHAT IS HEALTHY MINDS HEALTHY BODIES?

The Healthy Minds Healthy Bodies (HMHB) program promotes positive living for veterans, active military, and their families through fitness and community-based therapeutic recreation. Opportunities include golf, fitness, and aquatics membership plus a variety of monthly networking events and leisure activities.

WHAT DOES SRACLC OFFER?

SRACLC and its Member Agencies offer six different HMHB memberships to eligible active military and veterans. Participants may choose one annual membership at no cost to them which includes a membership for a Battle Buddy (spouse, family member, friend). Free membership is only available for residents who reside within the legal boundaries of SRACLC Member Agencies. In addition to the memberships, weekly and monthly recreational events are offered such as pickleball, golf, art, picnics, museum tours and more. View Brochure

Grayslake Community Park District

  • 20 punch pass for the Grayslake Golf Course
  • Additional punch pass for one Battle Buddy

Village of Lake Zurich

  • Family Beach Pass for Paulus Park
  • Unlimited free rental of non-motorized vessels, dependent on availability

Village of Libertyville

  • Family Pool Pass to Adler Pool

Mundelein Park and Recreation District

  • One-year Fitness Center Membership
  • One-year Fitness Center Membership for one Battle Buddy
  • Up to 15 personal training sessions

Round Lake Area Park District

  • 10 punch pass for 9 holes with cart or Golf Simulator at Renwood Golf Course
  • 10 punch pass for small bucket of balls at Renwood Driving Range
  • Frequent Player Card
    • Discounted rate after 10 punches
    • Discounted rate for Battle Buddy (can be different person each time)

Vernon Hills Park District

  • One-year Fitness Center Membership
  • One-year Fitness Center Membership for one Battle Buddy

HOW DO I JOIN?

If you or someone you know is a veteran or currently active in the military and are interested in SRACLC’s Healthy Minds Healthy Bodies program, please contact the SRACLC office at 847-816-4866 to schedule an intake meeting with the HMHB Coordinator. This meeting is approximately 30-60 minutes and the Coordinator will review the paperwork, program, and opportunities offered. Post intake, the Coordinator will assist with enrollment into desired membership and programs.
